During the eGen registration, the only personal information that eGen currently requests is your name (where applicable) and your email address.
eGen/eC2.sg uses your personal information primarily to customize your experience using the Site.
eGen/eC2.sg uses your email address to confirm your account, contact you in case of any problems with your account, send reminders regarding online counselling sessions or events you signed up for, as well as keep you updated on the site news.
In ticking yes, you consent to Fei Yue to collect, use or disclose my personal information for the purposes of counselling, administration, reporting to proper Authorities and other relevant and reasonable work in order to facilitate my services on eGen/eC2.sg.
Evaluation & Research
I understand and agree to participate in eGen/eC2.sg-related evaluation and research. I agree for eGen/eC2.sg to use my data in their approved evaluation and/or research studies, and I will not be identified in any way in the research/evaluation report without my prior consent.
I understand that I may withdraw my consent anytime in written form (email to email@example.com), and withdrawn consent means eGen/eC2.sg has the right to decide whether to continue offering counseling and services to me.
I am aware that all counselors in eC2.sg undergo clinical supervision as part of their professional development. I understand that supervision allows for instruction and/or supervisory input, ensuring me the highest quality services possible and I give my permission for such supervisory procedures. I also understand that all the recordings are kept confidential online.
How can I change my eGen/eC2.sg information?
You have the ability to change your email or your password so as to keep your information updated. Go to My Dashboard and click Profile. You are able to change your name, email or password there.
What can I do to protect my eGen/eC2.sg account?
Be careful to keep your username and password secret! Anyone who knows your username and password can log onto your account.
If you are using a shared computer to access your account, remember to log out before you leave that computer. If you forget to log out, the next person who uses that shared computer may have access to your account.
To minimize the risk of other people accessing your private account, we suggest you log out before you leave any computer that you use, even a personal one.
What does eGen do to protect my private and personal information?
At eGen, we value safety. We all understand the importance of maintaining a secure system for our private and personal information. Thus, we place high priority in doing everything we can to maintain and improve the security of our network.
For eC2.sg, we had an added protection of SSL certification to protect your information.
Data transmission over the Internet, however, cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Although eGen/eC2.sg pledges to put forth its best efforts to protect your private information, eGen/eC2.sg cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk. For further information on this subject, please see our User Agreement.
How can I control the privacy of my eGen blog entries?
You have complete control over which blog entries of your eGen Site are publicly viewable.
For new entries, simply click on "private" before you publish the entry. For already published "public" entries, you may republish the entry by editing the entry again and click on "private" to change the status.
"Public" entry means that it is accessible to anyone browsing the eGen Community.
"Private" items appear only on your private eGen blog entries, accessible only by you (or anyone to whom you've given your username and secret password), invisible to the rest of the eGen Community.
eGen stores and maintains your account information and copies of your blog entries and comments, including drafts, in order to provide the service.
You can change your eGen account settings, including your profile information, at any time in the Settings section of eGen. You can edit, save drafts and remove your weblog posts at any time.
If you delete your blog entries, we will remove all posts from public view. Because of the way we maintain this service, residual copies of your profile information and other information associated with your account may remain on back-up media.
Please note that in order to ensure security and online safety, the eGen team reserves the right to view all "private" and "authorized" entries.
Every time you visit a page on the Internet, your web browser sends specific information to the web site you are visiting. eGen's server logs automatically collect and store this information from your web browser, including your IP address, specific type of browser software, eGen-related cookies (see below), and the pages you visit at eGen.
To continue to provide eGen's products and services free-of-charge, eGen may display advertisements or other promotional information. eGen does not share any personally identifiable information with advertisers. And eGen never gives advertisers access to your individual personal account information.
eGen is intended for use by youth and young adults who are at least 13 years old, and we will not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, we will not allow you to create an account.
Special Note to Parents
If you are the Parent or Legal Guardian of a child under 13 who has become an eGen/eC2.sg member and you would like his or her account deleted, please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is there anything else I should know about privacy issues?
We will do everything in our power to maintain your privacy and online security. Strong privacy and security, however, requires effort from both eGen/eC2.sg and its members. Please be sure to follow the advice listed above for protecting your eGen/eC2.sg account. The best way to protect your privacy is to protect your password; change your password often, and keep it secret. eGen/eC2.sg will never ask you for your password.
At any time, if you have any concern over security issues or would like to report a security problem, please email email@example.com.
